Hong Kong is known for its claustrophobic residential areas, for its skyscrapers, for its million-dollar night view and for its dimsum. It is lesser known for its beautiful natural landscape, which deserves more attention. Shek O Beach is one of the most vibrant and liveliest beaches in Hong Kong, and the psychedelic beach umbrellas add a lot of fun and colours to the beach. Unlike other beaches, Shek O Beach is surrounded by cheap eateries and stores selling beach necessities at affordable prices. Definitely a paradise for spontaneous beach-goers.
Getting There
Take the MTR to Shau Kei Wan Station and exit from Exit A3. Then, take bus 9 to Big Wave Bay Beach, or take the red-top minibus that says Shek O (only available during the weekends).
