Lau Fau Shan, New Territories, Hong Kong. Lau Fau Shan, New Territories, Hong Kong.Lau Fau Shan—a fishing village facing Shenzhen Bay—is one of my favourite places to go for a seafood feast and to buy dried seafood, although there’s a plethora of options in Hong Kong. What I’ve noticed is that people here are generally more friendly and less aggressive in trying to win you over as a customer, compared to places like Lei Yue Mun. The only problem I have here is the amount of MSG that goes into the food, but it’s the same everywhere in Hong Kong. “Chinese food just isn’t the same without the MSG,” said one of the waiters at the eatery I frequent most in Lau Fau Shan.

Must Eat: Oysters and scallops.
Getting There: Take bus K65 from West Rail Tin Shui Wai Station or minibus no. 33 / 34 / 34A / 35.
