초심을 잊지 마라. 힘들 때마다 초심으로 돌아가려고 노력해라.
When things get tough, don’t forget why you have come this far.

I first heard about Dreamy Camera Café when I was in Yangpyeong for the rail bike, but it took me a year before I finally made my way to this café. If you’re not one to sit back and think things through, or if you’re expecting the café to offer spectacular food and drinks, you will find yourself lamenting that it doesn’t make much sense to spend so much time to get here, on top of having to spend 10,000 KRW on a taxi ride from Yongmun station to this café. And as much as its Rolleiflex exterior would have you think so, it is not exactly a photography café either.

In essence, Dreamy Camera Café is not so much about photography than it is about encouraging customers to dare to dream and to work towards their dreams. On each table are colour pencils and markers for customers to write with; for dreamers to set their goals and to hold themselves responsible to. When you are done writing, K (café owner) will take a photo of your bucket list and print it out with a Fujifilm Instax printer, so you can have a credit card sized copy to remind you that you should never forget your dreams.

If you’re a troubled millennial or just someone beginning to feel doubtful about your own life, maybe a trip to Dreamy Camera Café might change things, if not just perspectives.
