It was a Monday afternoon in late October, and I was on board a ferry with tens of dozens of other tourists going to Nami Island, which was made famous by the Korean drama, Winter Sonata. I never watched that drama, but everyone talks about visiting the island, so it is almost impossible to not know about this place.
It was still not quite the peak season yet, but the ginkgo leaves were already in shades of sunset yellow, resulting in neverending groups of people crowding around the area. Seeing how it was unlikely that I was going to get a clean shot of the scenery, I decided to walk further out to quieter parts on the island to enjoy the autumn breeze.
The next time I come, I hope to zip-line into the island and find it less crowded.
