There are quite a handful of celebrity-owned cafes and restaurants in Seoul and accessibility aside, 89 Mansion is my current favourite. My idea of a good cafe is one that serves great hot chocolate and green grape juice, since I drink neither coffee nor tea (with some exceptions) and 89M certainly knows how to get that perfect cup of hot chocolate.
For those of you who don’t already know, I’m pretty obsessed with my hot chocolate and sometimes people don’t understand when I complain about the hot chocolate at certain cafes. How bad could a cup of hot chocolate be? Very bad, in my opinion.
X and I tried two different dishes to get a better sense of the quality of food served here, and we’re happy to find out that this isn’t another of those cafe that does well just because it is opened by a celebrity (in this case, Lee Jong Suk).
On a completely irrelevant note, X and I noticed how good-looking the waiters were and wondered if they weren’t student-models. Turns out one of them is. Get their photos and signatures before they become famous, maybe?
