Seoul in Autumn, South Korea.

Kochia broom grass at Haneul Park Seoul South Korea in autumn

October is one of the best months to visit Seoul, as the weather cools down and as the city turns into warm shades of red, yellow and orange, and calming hues of brown and purple. One of the reasons tourism in South Korea is doing so well is not only because of Kpop and Korean dramas, but also because of the effort by the government departments in organising events.

Kochia, also known as broom grass, first caught my attention in 2016, but it wasn’t until 2017, when a large number of people started visiting Yangju Nari Park that started a craze for broom grass and pink muhly grass; autumn in South Korea is no longer just about silver grass, gingko trees and maple leaves.

This year, I was surprised to find out that you can now find these plants in Seoul, so no one has to travel over an hour to Suwon or Yangju just to take some photos.

Can’t wait till the fields turn all shades of red and pink!
