Although Seoul is just about the same size as Singapore, you can live in the city for more than 2 years and still feel like there’s a lot of places to check out. One of the reasons is probably because a lot of cafes and restaurants in Seoul disappear as quickly as they popped up, and there will always be new ones to replace them. But more importantly, Seoul just somehow has the means to make an old (or new) and little heard of neighbourhood into the latest attraction, when the current ones have become overcrowded.
And one of the latest attractions in Seoul? Ikseondong (익선동), a hanok alley that is almost a century old. There are many cafes and restaurants here, and as always, be prepared for many photogenic spots. Best to visit during the weekdays, because it’s way too crowded during the weekends.
We went to a Bangkok-themed cafe called The Summer Bangkok (더 썸머 방콕), where the food and beverages are a little pricey, and I’m not entirely sure they’re worth that price. You should come here only if you’re all for the atmosphere and photo opportunities.
