Japan: Shirakawa, Gifu

Shirakawa Japan

Last summer, I found myself in the Chubu Region of Japan which come to think of it, was my first time in Japan during summer. Nagoya had never been on my bucket list, but when I found out that it was a few hour bus ride away from Takayama and Shirakawa, I couldn’t pass the chance to visit, especially not when the plane ticket cost less than SGD$600.

While there wasn’t much to do in Nagoya, I definitely enjoyed Takayama (Hida beef!) and Shirakawa. That said, I think tourism has robbed Shirakawa of its intrinsic tranquility, which certainly disappointed me a little but that does not make it any less beautiful.

All photos shot on Fujifilm XT2 and edited on Capture One 20.
