Hong Kong: East Coast Park Precinct, Fortress Hill (炮台山東岸公園主題區)

During my visit to Hong Kong for the annual Standard Chartered 10km Run, I stumbled upon the East Coast Park Precinct at Fortress Hill. Unlike the crowded Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, the precinct felt like a local park where people could enjoy some fresh air amidst the hustle and bustle of Fortress Hill.

I found this waterfront park to be a great place to relax and socialise; there are benches and shelters for lounging, a playground for children to ride balance bikes, and a space for skateboarders to practise their skills.

On top of that, the park is pet-friendly and has plenty of spots for taking Instagram-worthy photos. It is the first breakwater in Hong Kong that is open to the public since late 2021, where visitors can enjoy 360-degree views of the harbour, catch the sunset, and admire Hong Kong’s stunning night view.
