Korean 101: 눈의 재능 vs 손의 재능 (An Eye for Aesthetics vs Good With Your Hands)

What is more important: having an eye for aesthetics or being skilled with your hands? Although it seems like a topic that people ponder over, it’s something that I had never considered before. Isn’t having both the eye for aesthetics and being good with your hands what makes one a good artist?

This conversation also brought to mind the long-standing debate between talent and hard work. While some people swear by the value of hard work, I believe that talent cannot be surpassed by diligence alone. This is especially true for those who possess both talent and discipline.

But if I had to choose, I would rather have an exceptional eye for aesthetics, because without a creative vision, there would be nothing to apply my skills to. And besides… there’s AI now to realise my artistic visions, right? 🤔
