Japan: Morioka in June.

Morioka is not a grand city, but it offers a peaceful setting with beautiful views of sunsets and sunrises along the river, as well as the mountains. However, what sets this city apart is its food. Morioka is particularly famous for its noodles, including jajamen, reimen (cold noodles), and Wanko soba (although I couldn’t try the latter because I was unaware of the need to book three weeks in advance).

Morioka Reimen. Tastes more like Jeju’s naengmilmyeon than Seoul’s naengmyeon.
Udon Jajamen at Pairon, supposedly the originator of Morioka Jajamen.
